Android N preview 3: Should you install it?

Last week, Google introduced the third developer preview for Android N, and we’ve been running it on a Nexus 6P ever since.

So the big question: Is it daily driver material?

Yes and no.

Google’s earlier releases were buggy and uneven in terms of performance, but this latest update is fairly stable—well, stable enough. For the most part, we haven’t run into any glaring issues aside from third-party app crashes, and battery has been fairly decent as well.

It’s always best to proceed with caution when using beta software, especially if you use it with your main device. However, Developer Preview 3 has been pretty good overall, providing for a smooth and elegant experience that Android owners will love.

That being said, we haven’t gone through the software with a fine-toothed comb, which means there are probably plenty of issues we haven’t yet run into. Via Google’s Android portal, the search giant has a pretty long list of known issues, so you’re bound to run into something during testing.
