Galaxy S7 edge concept design has us craving the real thing

We learned earlier this week that the Galaxy S7 could come in two different sizes, including a flat-screened 5.2-inch model and a 5.5-inch curved variant. Now graphic designer Jermaine Smit is bringing the latest rumor to life with an awesome new concept design.

The two-minute video looks almost exactly like one of Samsung’s presentations. We start with a black background that shows just the shiny metal outlines of the Galaxy S7 edge. Moments later, we see the device in all its glory, and it looks amazing.

The Galaxy S7 edge isn’t expected to change its design very much compared to last year’s models, and Smit follows that for the most part. The entire device looks just a little bit more polished and a little curvier. The phone also gets more screen space along the edges to show extra information.

The video mentions a few rumored hardware specifications as well. Here the Galaxy S7 edge gets a Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor (depending on region), a 12-megapixel BRITECELL primary camera, an 8-megapixel ISOCELL shooter in front, a USB-C port and a fingerprint reader. It comes in gold, rose gold, silver or black.

Of course this is just a concept design, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it comes pretty close to the actual Galaxy S7 edge. Samsung isn’t expected to unveil the rumored phone until late February 2016, but we’re already dying to get our hands on this phone.
