Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger says the club’s summer spending could continue into the coming months.

Arsenal smashed its club record for a transfer fee last week when it purchased Alexandre Lacazette from Olympique Lyonnais for £52 million.

Rather than complete its market activity, the Lacazette deal appears to be a sign of things to come as Wenger told reporters that “we [Arsenal] are looking at more signings.”

Though the Frenchman said “there is nothing really concrete about any signings [right now],” his statement follows reports that Arsenal will make a third bid for AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

Monaco rejected Arsenal’s opening bid of £30 million as well as its second offer of £40 million. Now, The Mirror claims Wenger is preparing a £45 million bid.

It had previously been speculated that the 21-year-old would replace Arsenal forward Alexis Sánchez, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Wenger, however, is clearly including Sánchez in his plans for the 2017-2018 season. “The players have contracts and we expect them to respect their contracts,” Wenger said. “That’s what we want.”

When asked if Sánchez had told Wenger that he wants to leave Arsenal, the Gunners manager gave a definitive answer. “No.”
