Batman Arkham HD collection leaks a day early – PC port or remaster?

Rumors swell in the night of a vigilante and his video game franchise that is overdue for an HD re-release. Of course, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City were already released in HD the first time through, but we’re more than happy to see these two games get another chance on the market to overlook that little tidbit.

As leaked by a GameStop employee through Eurogamer, the HD collection will be announced tomorrow with pre-orders going live shortly afterwards. This could be a PC port, or a full-on remaster. Given the proximity of its release and nature of the business, we’re betting on a PC port.

The bundle will be released on June 10 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it will contain Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and all of the DLC for both games.

Batman: Arkham Origins will not be included in the bundle, most likely because it was not developed by Rocksteady Studios, but rather, Warner Bros. Interactive Montreal. Its poor critical reception might have played into the decision as well.

Excellent news for Batman fans. Arkham Asylum is still my favorite of the bunch as I prefer its more linear “Metroidvania” approach than the open-worlds of the other games, and Arkham City provides a decent sized city that never reaches cumbersome levels like Arkham Knight and Arkham Origins.

Expect the announcement from Warner Bros. sometime tomorrow.
