Beyond stock iOS apps: What other alternatives are there?

Our lives revolve around our smartphones. There’s no way of getting around that unless you turn back time and dust off that Moto Razr you have in the closet. For the rest of us, we’re immersed in apps to get most of our daily tasks and errands completed.

Apple offers some great apps out of the box, but what if you want something beyond stock? Apps such as Mail and Calendar have been the de facto apps of choice but many third-party options offer improved functionality and features.

We’ve found some great alternatives that are worth checking out.
