BlackBerry Classic vs Nexus 6P: Vote best smartphone – Mobile Madness 2016

Welcome to another round of the Mobile Madness. The field is narrowed down to the final eight phones. And today we have two fine representatives of their respective platforms, the BlackBerry Classic and the Huawei Nexus 6P.

Yes, the BlackBerry Classic is a tad older, it’s been out for well over a year now, but it is the most recent hardware refresh and runs BlackBerry 10. Sure, the Passport runs it as well, but this phone is newer and this is probably the latest smartphone we’ll see for the year, or longer. Sure, we’ll see more BlackBerry phones this year, but likely running Android like the Priv.

The Nexus 6P is probably the first time that most U.S. users have set their eyes on a Huawei device. However, it is a really strong effort and of course access to the latest version of Android is always a big positive for Nexus devices. There’s so little to dislike about the 6P.

Vote below, and vote as often as you’d like. Have fun and be kind to each other.

BlackBerry Classic

For the BlackBerry faithful, the Classic is a sight for sore eyes. Finding the right balance is a near-impossible task. In cooking, neglecting to use spices can leave a dish bland and without personality; add too much and you ruin the meal entirely. The same thing can happen in mobile.

I’ve used and tested a lot of really great phones this year, but none have struck that perfect balance between design, speed, battery life and software. Some come close, but there’s always that one thing that keeps a phone from being The One.

The Nexus 6P is different—or comes about as close to perfection as I’ve seen. What I find most impressive is how the Nexus 6P’s excellence feels so natural, like it isn’t trying too hard to be the best. It just is. Everything works in perfect harmony to create one of the most exciting devices in a long, long time… read more
