BlackBerry’s two new Android smartphones exposed in leak

BlackBerry finally embraced Android with the BlackBerry Priv last year. Now the Canadian company appears to be gearing up for another run with Google’s mobile operating system.

Recent leaked pictures published by 51BlackBerry show a pair of alleged BlackBerry-made Android phones. There’s a traditional handset with a physical QWERTY keyboard codenamed Rome, which looks like the BlackBerry Priv but without the slide-out design. There’s also the Hamburg, which appears to feature an all-touch display without any physical buttons in front and a metal frame.

BlackBerry has already suggested that it is going to put its focus on Android, noting back in January that “the future is really Android.” If it sticks to its guns, then it’s likely we’ll see new Android phones, whether it’s the alleged devices above or not.

The Hamburg is expected to launch in the second half of 2016 with mid-range specs for about $400. Unfortunately, we don’t have any other details on the Rome.
