BlazBlue returning to North America this winter thanks to Aksys Games

Arc System Works is the best fighting game studio out there when it comes to kicking it old school in two dimensions. The studio provides an excellent alternative to the Mortal Kombats, the Street Fighters, the Tekkens, and the Killer Insticts of the world. Although it is best known for its classic Guilty Gear franchise and Persona 4 Arena fighting games, the studio rewrote its main line-up during the previous generation with its exciting new BlazBlue franchise.

It’s been a while since we’ve been graced with the series in North America, but thanks to the localizers at Aksys Games, BlazBlue: Central Fiction will be coming to us before the year is out. The studio has confirmed over at the PlayStation Blog that the latest game in the franchise will be released for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 this winter.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction has been available in Japanese arcades since last November, but the home release has not yet hit shelves in its home country. Japan will be getting the console version in the fall, meaning that the North American winter release is a one-season turnaround. It’s a testament to how fast these smaller publishing companies can leap on a game and make it available.

Again, BlazBlue: Central Fictionwill be released this winter for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
