Sometimes it feels like my job is to listen to good advice, ignore it, fail miserably, and then repeat the good advice I should have followed in the first place.
My $2500 VW that needed a new pressure plate the moment I drove it around the block springs to mind.
As for good advice, a line today from reader PartyPooper2012 is also quite relevant. I became filled with desire for a 1988 Celica All-Trac. PartyPooper2012 was less enthused:
