  • Derrick Rose’s NBA future is once again up in the air.
  • According to ESPN, Rose has not been with the team since Monday.
  • Now there is speculation once again that the former MVP’s NBA career could be over.

Derrick Rose may once again be questioning his NBA future.

According to a report from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin and Adrian Wojnarowski, Rose has left the Cavaliers and is “seriously re-evaluating his future in the NBA.”

The report also noted that Rose has been non-communicative with many people he’s close with from both within and outside of the Cavaliers organization, and there is now concern that he might not return to the league at all.

As one source told ESPN, “He’s tired of being hurt and it’s taking a toll on him mentally.”

Rose was last with the Cavaliers for the win against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, and a team spokesman told ESPN that his current absence is excused. After suffering an ankle injury in late October, Rose came back to play in five more games for the Cavaliers before being benched once again with the injury on November 9. He has not played for the Cavs since.

It’s not the first time Rose has been missing from a team. Last season, Rose no-showed a game for the Knicks, later citing “family issues” as the reason for his absence.

Rose is averaging 14.3 points on 47 percent shooting this season for the Cavaliers, and playing 27 minutes a game when healthy as the team awaits the return of newly acquired All Star guard Isaiah Thomas.
