Google slashes $50 off Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P

Google is currently offering a $50 reduction on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P until May 6. The discount drops the starting price of the larger model to just $450 off-contract, while the Nexus 5X now starts at just $299.

The latest Nexus lineup has seen a series of reductions since they made their initial debuts last October; Google actually started cutting prices about three months after they went on sale. This suggests the lineup hasn’t been selling as well as Google hoped, but that’s unconfirmed.

Either way, it almost seems crazy to buy a Nexus at full-price now. But if you move quickly, you won’t have to. So long as you buy your new device directly from the Google Store, Best Buy, or B&H Photo, you’ll get $50 off the regular price tag.

If you buy from B&H, you will also receive a $25 gift card to go with it; while Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card — but only on Nexus 6P purchases.

If you’re a fan of pure Android, and you want updates as soon as they’re available, the Nexus lineup is ideal — especially at this price. Both the 5X and the 6P are pretty terrific devices, with great displays, impressive cameras, and decent speakers.

However, the 6P is definitely the better option if you can handle its size.
