Legendary Couture House McLaren Offers New Jackets, Just in Time For Fall

All image credits: McLaren

For years, House McLaren has been desolate, empty and barren of anything closely resembling couture. It is uncouth and tacky to turn up at your niece’s clarinet recital wearing a McLaren-branded racing polo. Thankfully, that’s about to change.

Teaming up with a clothing company called Belstaff, the two have created a capsule collection that is 100 percent about serious luxury and not at all annoying. The available color palette includes black and deep navy. There are 10 men’s outerwear items and three women’s pieces with:

…each element embodying the design ethos, materials innovation and performance heritage at the heart of the two brands. The collection characterizes the “capsule wardrobe” principle – based around a few essential classics that never go out of fashion – in the most elegant and functional way possible.

You, the purveyor of such functional and versatile couture, will be pleased with the inclusion of mesh ventilation, laser-cut seams, pivot armholes, padded shoulders for comfortable seatbelt-wearing, hidden pockets and minimal necklines.

The fabric is stretchy, lightweight, breathes well and water-resistant. You can do anything in it: Spelunking, deep-sea fishing, competitive shooting or trips to the makeup counter at Saks.

The full collection collection for Him and Hers can be found here, but here are a few of my favorites.

A nice and trim lamb-skin jacket. $1,595.

Everything is on sale in the U.S. starting today. The holidays are just around the corner, so not a bad idea to think ahead! The expression the models are wearing in these photos, however, are not included. Those have to come from within.
