“Most exciting” NFL football games coming to YouTube

The NFL and YouTube announced on Friday an extension of an existing partnership that has provided YouTube with content from NFL games. Moving forward, however, viewers can expect some of the most classic moments in football history, including full-length games.

The NFL said Friday that, ahead of the first game of the 2016 season, it will publish three of the “most memorable” games for each of the 32 NFL teams to YouTube. Big Jets fan? Then you should be able to watch three of the best Jets games ever right on YouTube. Wonder if they’ll include the now infamous Mark Sanchez butt fumble? (I was actually at that game.)

The NFL said it will also start to pump YouTube full of game highlights, even like the games are playing live around the country. If someone searches Google for an NFL team, some of those highlight clips will appear in search results, in addition to other information like the kickoff time and broadcast information, the NFL said.

“This expansion of our partnership will make it easier than ever for the millions of highly engaged avid and casual fans on YouTube and Google to discover and access an even greater variety of some of the most valuable content in the sports and entertainment business,” said Hans Schroeder, Senior Vice President, Media Strategy, Business Development, & Sales for the National Football League.

The NFL said that its content has already received more than 900 million views on YouTube since the partnership began last year.
