Oops… Sausage Party trailer mistakenly played before Finding Dory

A theater in Concord, Calif., was forced to issue a formal apology after a screening for Finding Dory mistakenly played a trailer for the R-rated Seth Rogen comedy Sausage Party. A spokesman for the theater said the gaff was down to human error.

“Playing that trailer was a one-time honest mistake by a theater manager moving screens around in an effort to accommodate several large last minute groups wanting to see Dory, the wrong movie was started by mistake,” said Walter Eichinger, the Vice President of Operations for Brenden Theatres.

While the two movies are both animated comedies, their similarities end there. You can catch the official red band trailer for Sausage Party above to see why. While it’s a completely unfortunate mistake, at least one person saw the humor in it.

Sausage Party will hit theaters on Aug. 12, 2016.
