Sebastian Vettel Just Set The Fastest Lap Ever At The Hungaroring

Sebastian Vettel just set the fastest recorded lap ever at the Hungaroring during qualifying for tomorrow’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

Naturally, this means Vettel will be on pole at the start of tomorrow’s race, with Ferrari teammate Kimi Räikkönen starting P2, suggesting Ferrari found some, uh, sort of motivation over the break. Mercedes driver Valterri Botas will start P3, and Lewis Hamilton is all the way back there at P4 somehow, complaining about tire issues according to the BBC.

Ferrari had come under fire for its performance at the Austrian Grand Prix relating to oil burn and floor stiffening of its cars, so if they’ve found a way to avoid clarifications and be super quick this race, they’re set up as good as they could be to keep Mercedes from overtaking them in the points.

The racing should hopefully be good tomorrow, as long as we avoid the bumper cars antics.
