Sonic Boom! Capcom has a plan for Street Fighter V rage quitters

Along with a roster update that bleeds Red, White, and Blue, Capcom has revealed its plan to deal with one of the problems that has plagued Street Fighter V since launch. Rage quitting might soon be a thing of the past, or at least, a punishable offense each time it occurs.

An update on both PlayStation Blog and Capcom Unity spells out the punishment, which will lead to a ban from matchmaking attempts for a short time. And since it’s been officially published by Capcom in two places now, you can’t claim that you didn’t know!

The way this will work is the system will identify players who have high disconnect rates during matches and will lock them out of matchmaking for a period of time. Players who have been identified as abusing the system will receive an in-game message notifying them they have been locked out of matchmaking.

Sonic Ban Hammer! Street Fighter V takes a stride to becoming the fighting game it can be, and it will get there sooner than you think. Capcom also claims that the matchmaking system will see some much needed improvement as well.

The game is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC, and this update will be rolled out before the end of April.
