Either someone at Square Enix finally just remembered that the PS Vita exists, or the company is sick and tired of the handheld’s userbase complaining about how it never localizes the games it puts out in Japan.
Shortly after Square Enixconfirmed the release of Dragon Quest Builders for the PS Vita and PlayStation 4 in North America, SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu also chimed in, stating definitively that his team is working on bringing the PS Vita release of Romancing SaGa 2 to English speaking fans as well.

As usual, Square Enix put the game on mobile platforms, but the more traditional gaming fanbase wants it for the Vita. Never under-estimate the desire for buttons! Such a situation happened recently when Square Enix did the same thing for Adventures of Mana and neglected the North American PS Vita release. It eventually said it would look into publishing it, but that was the last we heard on the subject.
As for Romancing SaGa 2, it remains the only one of the three Super Famicom Romancing SaGa games that has not gotten a properly completed fan-translation. Several decent ones still float around out there, but they aren’t quite up to the standards that fan-translations have set over the years. Many are looking forward to this release as the first opportunity to play the lost classic.
The bad news is it costs $17.99 on the mobile market, and fans are adamant in believing that the price is way too high for a game that is over two-and-a-half decades old. Who knows what the Vita price might be?
However, hopefully enough people buy it to convince Square Enix to localize SaGa Scarlet Grace for the Vita in the coming years.
Obligatory statement:SaGa Frontier would look equally nice on the PlayStation Vita as well, Square Enix.
