Suicide Squad to feature more Batman than we thought

We’re already well aware Ben Affleck’s Batman has a cameo appearance in this summer’s Suicide Squad, but it sounds like he’ll be in it more than we initially thought. According to Batman-News, the dark knight will feature in more than just that chase sequence glimpsed in the trailer, including an “emotional” scene with Will Smith’s Deadshot.

Batman News can confirm that Batman does not cross the path of the entire team in Suicide Squad. He has a scene with Will Smith’s dead, and without getting too specific, it’s sure to be an emotional one!

Next is the car scene that we saw in the trailers with Batman, The Joker, and Harley Quinn. Unfortunately, there isn’t much interaction between Batman and the Joker here. It’s mostly between Batman and Harley.

In addition, Batman apparently has a second flashback scene with Deadshot though it’s unclear what their interaction will be like. At one point in the comic, Deadshot enacts a plan to become leader of Gotham’s Underworld, but his plans are foiled by Batman. Perhaps we’ll get a tiny glimpse of that arc before he’s sent to prison.

It’s not much but it’s nice to hear that we’ll be seeing more of Affleck’s Batman later this year, likely a teaser for his upcoming solo movie, which still doesn’t have a release date.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on Aug. 4, 2016.
