Take a Lap Around the Nordschleife in a Mazda MX-5 Miata NC Driven by a Koenigsegg Test Driver

Friends, is there anything more satisfying than the onboard video of someone completing a really satisfying lap around the Nürburgring? Personally, I don’t think so. So sit back, relax, and watch a Koenigsegg test driver run a 7:37 lap of the Nordschleife in his Miata NC

He’s driving a 2007 Mazda MX-5 NC 2.0 Sport Roadster Coupé that’s got a decently lengthy list of modifications. We’re working with an ECU remap, a five speed gearbox instead of a six-speed, and plenty of other modifications to make a stock model better fit for racing. You can check out the full list in the description of the video to get a full sense of how things change.

Now, keep in mind, we’re not watching for sheer speed. You can find faster laps around the Nordschleife all over the Internet. Nah—this is purely and simply a video that lets you appreciate a driver who knows his shit. The lines are so clean. The handling is incredible. The Miata is a car meant for building momentum; it might seem slow on the straights, but you can really see the speed carry through the corners.

And, if you want to watch how things have changed throughout the years, turningperformance has tons of YouTube videos in the same car, so you can watch lap times improve as the mod list grows.

Cozy up, boys and girls. This is one YouTube hole you’re not gonna regret falling down.
