Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha spent £2.05 million ($2.5 million) on six horses in a bid for success at Royal Ascot this week.
Srivaddhanaprabha bought the horses at Goffs’s London Sale on Monday, according to the Racing Post.
Srivaddhanaprabha’s bloodstock agent, a person who buys and sells thoroughbred horses, Alastair Donald said: “He’s looking to build up his stable and he was attracted by the prospect of having runners at Royal Ascot.
“He loves his horses, he’s also big into polo and has around 150 polo ponies. He’s had huge success with Leicester City and now he’s looking to expand his racing interests here.”
The Ascot festival began on Tuesday and concludes on Saturday, June 24. The premier event, the Gold Cup, is contested on Thursday at 4:20 p.m.

Srivaddhanaprabha, who has a net worth of £3.64 billion, has a seventh horse but Baldovina, which cost £300,000, is not running this week.
