The Convertible That Doesn’t Convert

Welcome to Paper Jam, the feature where we highlight the best automotive advertisements from the past! Print might be nearly dead, but our scanners are just getting warmed up.

This is a coupe with roof styling unlike any other car’s. The black or beige vinyl wrap gives the impression that you have a convertible, when in fact you drive a luxurious hardtop, with all the benefits of having some sheet metal above your head. Great looks, engineered by GM. Inside, there’s more good news as you’re welcomed by foam-cushioned seats, thick carpeting, a padded dash and the most comfortable seat belts that don’t do anything. But if all you care about is that vinyl roof, we hear you.

Call Chevrolet and find out what body color looks best with a beige top. For the black one, the answer should be obvious.
