The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd translations are complete

The third and final chapter of Nihon Falcom’s popular The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series is now entirely translated. A full decade after its original PSP release, XSEED is one step closer to finally fulfilling the promise it made to fans to complete the trilogy.

XSEED used its Twitter account to share a few translated screenshots and progress, showing that while translations are done, the editing still has a ways to go.

In other Trails in the Sky the 3rd news:

Translation: 100% complete

Editing: 13.23% complete

QA: we’re on it like Stregas on Estelle

Hopefully, this progress will mean that The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd will be released before the end of the year.

XSEED will have more freedom after this project

You have to do a little research into the history behind this localization to grasp how huge it is. The Legend of Heroes:Trails in the Sky games are notorious for their lengthy dialogue, and the hell the company went through with the first game has been well documented by now.

Now that this pet project is finally complete, the studio should have a bit more freedom to move around and choose other games and franchises to work on. Of course, the more modern Legend of Heroes games are also going to need localizations, but that’s a bit different than dabbling in a ten-year-old series.
