The next Pokémon Sun and Moon Global Mission is live! Good luck

The second global mission for Pokémon Sun and Moon is now live. You’ll need to use the Island Scanner to help find, capture and/or defeat 1,000,000 Pokémon. The world has until January 9, 2017, to get it done.

Here are the details of the event, as recapped by the folks at Serebii.net.

Task: Use Island Scan to capture or defeat 1,000,000 Pokémon

Duration: December 27th 2016 04:00 UTC – January 9th 2017 23:59

Reward: 2,017 FC (Success), 217 FC (Failure) – If the game is tied to a Global Link account: 4,034 FC (Success), 434 FC (Failure)

FC is short for “Festival Coins,” the currency used to purchase goods in the Festival area. These are useful once you visit the place and learn about what it offers.

You’ll use the Island Scan feature, scan QR codes for Pokémon (you can find all of those right here or in the gallery at the head of this post)

So, the world will need to check in with the Global Mission lady in the Festival area, I assume like last time. You will need to check in with here throughout the event to have your progress logged.

Let’s hope this goes better than last time.

The first global mission? Crash and burn, baby. We were all supposed to catch 100 million Pokémon in two weeks. We caught 16.5 million. Whiff.

I personally think the need to check-in in order to record progress is the problem. People simply don’t want to be bothered. I get it. I think we might miss this goal, too.

We’ll see! Good luck, trainers!
