Refurb Amazon Echo, $140

Update: Sold out

Haven’t you heard? The Amazon Echo is actually really great (and only getting better over time), and you can save $40 on yours if you buy it refurbished from Woot, an Amazon subsidiary.

http://gizmodo.com/amazon-echo-re…

Note: Amazon has announced that Prime Day 2016 will be in less than two weeks, on July 12. It’s possible that there will be a discount on new Echoes that day, though we don’t know for sure.

In addition to being a pretty solid Bluetooth speaker, the Echo can check the weather, turn on your lights, read you the news, trigger custom IFTTT recipes, order food, and—my personal favorite—read you Jeopardy questions like a robotic Alex Trebek. Even though it is refurbished, Woot says that each unit has been inspected by an Amazon technician, so the only things you have to worry about are “minor cosmetic blemishes.”

eBay Flash Sale: Promo code CRUISEN2SUMMER

From now until 3PM PT (6PM ET), eBay is taking $15 off any $75 order (with a few exclusions) when you check out with Paypal and use code CRUISEN2SUMMER at checkout. That includes gift cards (other than eBay gift cards), so there’s really no reason not to take advantage.

Note: The section below is just a few top picks, but eBay sells gift cards to hundreds of different retailers, and this will also work on auction items. Just head over to their site and search for what you’re looking for.

Top Picks:

Monoprice 20% off sale, promo code CRAZY

Today only, Monoprice is taking 20% off practically all Monoprice-branded products with promo code CRAZY. Monoprice’s gear was already known for offering great value, so this code is just icing on the cake. A few of our picks are listed below, but head over to Monoprice’s splash page to see more options.

Note: The code isn’t limited only to items on that page. If there are other Monoprice-branded products elsewhere on the site that you want, it should work on those as well.

This Bella Rocket personal Blender looks a lot like similar blenders from Ninja, but at $24, it’s far less expensive. That price is doubly impressive when you realize that it has a four star review average, and comes with five tumblers to make smoothies on the go.

You don’t need a yard, or even any gardening skills to grow your own food at home; you just need a Miracle-Gro Aerogarden. This fully-integrated, soil-free indoor garden can grow herbs, vegetables, and salad greens up to five times faster than regular soil, and $103 is the best price we’ve ever seen on the LCD screen-equipped Ultra model.

That price includes a seed pod starter kit which features genovese basil, thai basil, chives, cilantro, curly parsley, dill and mint, but there are a ton of other options available on Amazon, if any of those aren’t staples in your diet.

Etekcity Smart Wi-Fi Outlet, $23 with code P7WBUFBO | TP-Link Smart Switch, $25

Smart outlet switches have exploded in popularity in the years since Belkin released the original WeMo switch, and we’ve spotted great deals on two different alternatives today.

Functionally, the $23 Etekcity Smart Wi-Fi Outlet and the $25 TP-Link Smart Switch are pretty similar. They both plug into a standard AC outlet, and let you cut or enable the power to essentially any appliance using a smartphone app. The main difference between the two is that the Etekcity will monitor your energy usage, while the TP-Link is compatible with the Amazon Echo. At these prices, you can’t go wrong either way.

Update: The modern furniture retailer added up to 65% off on outdoor furniture and seating, plus a flash sale with discounts of up to 90% off, with new products added every day.

Flash sales are always fun, because it really makes you think about how much you’ll miss out on. So you should definitely take advantage of Dot & Bo’s Stars & Stripes event, where you 20% off select styles with the code 20%OFF-STYLESWELOVE. And they’ve even broken the site down by style: Rustic, Bohemian, Mid-Century, Industrial. How nice of them.

Prefer soft (i.e. expandable) bags when you travel, but still want the option to roll it along the airport terminal? This carry-on sized duffel from Samsonite gives you the best of both worlds for just $25.

If you want to dip your toes into the world of electric toothbrushes, Philips’ entry level Sonicare Essence line is a great value at $28. I’ve been using this brush for years, and I still love it.

The deal is available for models with pink and purple accents, but the purple actually looks pretty blue, to my eyes. Just note that this is a Gold Box deal, meaning this price is only available today, or until sold out.

Anker SoundCore Sport XL, $51 with code SOUNDSXL

Anker’s SoundCore line of Bluetooth speakers dominated our recent Kinja Co-Op, but the newest member of the family just got its first discount.

http://co-op.kinja.com/these-are-your…

The Anker SoundCore Sport XL features the same one-meter waterproofing of the original SoundCore Sport, plus added dust resistance, making it even more rugged. And since it’s the “XL” version, it improves upon the original Sport with dual 8W drivers (vs. a single 3W driver), 15 hours of battery life (vs. 10), 66′ wireless range (vs. 33′) and a USB power output to charge your phone from anywhere. Simply put, it seems like a perfect speaker for your summer barbecues, hikes, and beach trips.

The SoundCore Sport XL debuted just a few days ago at $60, but while supplies last, you can save $9 with promo code SOUNDSXL.

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-SoundCor…

Despite the existence of winged and electric options, our readers’ overwhelmingly still prefer the humble double-hinged corkscrew for opening a bottle of wine, and this attractive model from X-Chef is just $6 today.

https://www.amazon.com/Corkscrew-X-Ch…

$22 for a $25 Fandango gift card isn’t a huge discount, but if that’s the service you use to buy movie tickets, it’s basically free money to spend on snacks.

Some days, you just need to make a mug of coffee and get going. Others, you need a full pot. Luckily, this $52 Hamilton Beach can do both. This once went as low as $40 on Amazon, but that brief deal aside, $52 is a great price.

https://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach…

Mpow Muze Bluetooth Headphones, $40 with code CSHVX2HL

We’ve seen our fair share of cheap Bluetooth ear buds, but how about on-ears? Mpow’s Muze headphones are wireless, foldable, well-reviewed, and even noise-canceling. That’s a heck of a package for $40. Remember, your next phone might not have a headphone jack, so this is as good a time as any to get accustomed to wireless.

https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth…

Ready to get fit? For a limited time, Amazon’s taking an extra 20% off a ton of popular EAS products via a clippable coupon.

Inside, you’ll find dozens of powders, shakes, bars, and more in a variety of flavors and formulas. Just note that the prices displayed on the page do not include the discount; you won’t see your 20% savings until the final checkout screen.

If you’re a student, the parent of a student, or a faculty member, Microsoft is offering up deeply discounted bundles that include either a Surface Pro 4 or a Surface Book, plus the free Xbox One bundle of your choice, an extra game, an extra controller, and a $50 Microsoft Store gift credit.

http://gizmodo.com/microsoft-surf…

http://gizmodo.com/microsoft-surf…

As far as back to school promotions go, this is pretty damn good, so if you’ve been meaning to buy a new Surface product, this is a pretty nice cherry on top.

Update: We posted this exact model last week for $850, but now you can get it for $800.

If you held a gun to my head and forced me to use a Windows laptop, I’d absolutely choose the Dell XPS 13. Adorama’s eBay storefront today is selling one with a 3200×1800 edge to edge display, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD for $800, which is a fantastic bargain for anyone seeking a mid-to-high end laptop who doesn’t care so much about gaming.

We’ve seen plenty of $100 deals on the Fitbit Charge HR, but $85 is unheard of. Admittedly, we haven’t seen this eBay seller before, but they have good, if limited feedback.

These Mackie bookshelf speakers sell for $100 on Amazon, and are actually the top-selling options in the “Studio Audio Monitors” category, but Adorama will sell you the pair for $75 today after a $10 mail-in rebate, plus free shipping.

Vansky White Bias Light, $14 with code L42XO3AB | Vansky RGB Bias Light, $18 with code L42XO3AB

For a few years now, Antec’s USB-powered HDTV bias light has been one of our most reliably popular deals whenever it went on sale. The problem: It only got a significant discount once every few months. Luckily, a copycat has emerged to fill in the gap.

http://bestsellers.kinja.com/bestsellers-an…

Just like the Antec model, these Vansky LED light strips plug directly into your TV’s USB port for power, and sticks to the back of the set via built-in adhesive. Once you turn your TV on, the light strip will cast a soft glow on the wall behind it, which can reduce eyestrain when watching in the dark, and improve your TV’s perceived black levels.

We’ve posted deals on these several times now, but today’s $18 and $14 price points are all-time lows.

Aukey Mini Drone, $25 with code O2MHCN74

Before you go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a DJI Phantom, you can learn the basics of flying a quadcopter with this $25 toy drone from Aukey. Trust me, if you can fly this thing, you can fly a GPS-equipped, gyro-stabilized camera rig. And if not, well, it’s not like crashing it will be that big a deal.

https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Quadcopt…

Amazon added over 50 new Dash buttons to their lineup this morning, and while you probably don’t need most of them (except the Nerf one, you definitely need that), there may be a few in there that could come in handy around your house. The buttons still cost $5 each, but as an added incentive, you’ll get that $5 back in the form of an Amazon credit when you press it for the first time.

If the thought of a $15 rice cooker isn’t enough to wet your whistle—and really, what’s more exciting than rice?—consider that it also includes a steaming tray that can cook your meats and vegetables simultaneously. That means dinner gets ready faster, and with less to clean up.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004O83YVQ/…

This $169 Chromebook has a super-thin design, 13 hours of battery life, and 4GB of RAM, all solid specs. But most importantly, it will support Android apps via Google Play in the coming months, which should dramatically expand its capabilities. If you’re in the market for a travel-friendly portable, you could do a whole lot worse for the price.

Innoo Tech Wine Aerator, $5 with code SBXI9IH2

Like an Aeropress with mediocre coffee, an aerator can really improve a lower end bottle of wine (or bring out more of the characteristics of a good one). This one plugs right into the end of your bottle, and agitates the wine as you pour to introduce a little oxygen. If you don’t already own something similar, it’s well worth $5.

https://www.amazon.com/Aerator-Innoo-…

Aukey Dual Port Charger, $7 with code U4P45EXI

You know the little charging brick that came with your phone? Throw it out, and spend $7 on this replacement from Aukey (with code U4P45EXI). It’s basically the same size as Apple’s standard iPhone charger, but it includes two ports, folding prongs, and 2.4A of current (instead of 1A) to charge your devices faster.
