Top Tech Deals

An SSD is the best upgrade you can give your older computer, and Samsung’s 850 EVO line is the most popular one there is. A worldwide NAND shortage has reversed the previously inexorable downward price trend on these things over the past year or so, but today on Amazon, you can get a 500GB drive for $150, the best price we’ve seen in 2017.

TP-Link’s well-reviewed AC3200 router is good enough for just about every home or apartment, and Prime members can get it for an all-time low $120 today. Just make sure you don’t step on it thinking it’s some kind of large bug.

Google Wifi is one of the highest profile competitors in the nascent mesh router market, and Amazon’s marking down their three-pack of Wifi access points to just $259 for Prime members, the best price we’ve ever seen.

Logitech’s Harmony Elite is basically the grand poobah of TV remotes, with the ability to control up to 15 different devices, a capacitive touchscreen, the ability to build programs that control multiple devices with one touch, and a lot more.

My favorite feature though? The included Harmony Hub that turns your smartphones, Echoes, and Google Homes into fully-functional remotes; perfect for when you’ve inevitably lost the actual remote in the couch cushions. It’s been a little cheaper than $258 on a couple of occasions, but this is a very good price if you’re in the market.

UE Boom 2, $130

The UE Boom 2 is one of the best water-resistant speakers out there and Amazon’s marked it down to $130 today in multiple colors, matching an all-time low.

While this Samson USB microphone isn’t exactly professional quality, it’ll sound infinitely better than the microphone built into your laptop. So if you like to vlog, or just have participate in a lot of conference calls (my condolences), it’s a great buy at $25. That’s an all-time low, and well below its usual $40-$50.

Sony’s MDR line of Bluetooth headphones sold like gangbusters during Black Friday, but if you were holding out for noise cancelling models, Amazon’s rewarding your patience today with a $100 discount on the top-of the line MDR1000x.

These headphones have all the features you’d expect in a good pair of Bluetooth headphones these days: NFC pairing, 20+ hour battery life, and even LDAC Hi-Res audio compatibility. But the secret sauce here is noise cancellation, including a special mode that lets ambient voices through either at all times, or just when you cup a hand over the right earcup.

AnkerPowerPort 5, $18 with code ANKERAA1

Anker’s PowerPorts are your favorite USB charging hubs, and the standard 40W, 5-port model is down to $18 today with promo code ANKERAA1. This would be perfect for your nightstand, your desk at work, or my personal favorite: Hidden behind your couch.

HooToo TripMate Titan, $34 with code 5W34ZVYR

If you travel with any regularity, the HooToo TripMate Titan may just be your new best friend, because it’s actually three devices in one.

  • Travel Router: Turn any ethernet jack you find into a Wi-Fi hotspot, which can still come in handy at certain hotels and conventions.
  • 10,400mAh USB Battery Pack: Keep your phone and tablet charged during a long day away from any power outlets.
  • File Hub: Transfer files and wirelessly stream content from a hard drive or flash drive to all of your devices. Imagine loading a cheap thumb drive card up with movies for a long trip, instead of, say, buying an expensive iPad with more local storage.

Today on Amazon, you can knock $6 off the price of the TripMate with promo code 5W34ZVYR. We aren’t sure how many they have in stock, or how long the promo code will last, so I’d act fast if you’re interested.

Mpow Bluetooth Audio Receiver, $13 with code J9E2LO9V

Chances are, you have some old speaker systems lying around that were created before the widespread adoption of Bluetooth. But you can still add wireless streaming to any of them for just $13 with this dongle from Mpow. We’ve seen a lot of similar products before, but this one comes with both a 3.5mm connection and RCA cables, so it should work with just about any audio system.

While not nearly as enticing as their Prime Day discounts, Amazon’s back-to-school price drops on their Kindle, Fire, and Echo devices are solid deals if you’re in the market.

The best deal of the bunch is easily the Amazon Echo for $100, down from $180. You can also save $5 on Echo Dots to spread around your house.

On the Kindle front, you can save $20 on the e-reader of your choice. As always, we think the Paperwhite offers the best value of the trio, but I own the Voyage, and it really is extremely nice.

And finally, Amazon’s ultra-affordable Fire 7 tablet is $10 off, but you should probably opt for the Fire HD 8 for just $20 more. That gets you a better screen, 50% more battery life, twice the storage, and stereo speakers.

Anker’s PowerLine cables have long been reader-favorites, and now you can get three USB-C to USB cables for an all-time low $12.

If the bottom of your bag looks like a Radioshack going out of business sale, this $8 travel case from AmazonBasics can keep your memory cards, battery packs, charging cables, and other small electronics organized.

Anker SoundCore, $27 with code ALBCXN3Y

Anker’s SoundCore blew away the competition to take the title of your favorite affordable Bluetooth speaker, and today, you can pick one up for $27 with code ALBCXN3Y. That’s a couple bucks more than it was on Prime Day, but otherwise one of the best prices we’ve seen.

For about $7 more though, you can opt for the upgraded water-resistant version instead. In my experience, they sound nearly identical, and they both sport the same incredible battery life, so you can choose solely based on your need for water resistance.

1 Year NordVPN, $48 with code VIP70 | 2 Year Plan, $72 with code 2YSpecial2017

VPNs are in the news these days, and with good reason. So if you’re curious to sign up and start protecting your browsing history and personal data (or, you know, getting around websites’ geoblocks), NordVPN charges less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $69 to $48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $79 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

Top Home Deals

Greenworks’ 80V cordless lawn tools will make you wonder why you ever used gas-powered appliances, and several of them are on sale, today only.

Included in the deal are a pair of blowers—your lawn will be covered in leaves in a month or two, if you can believe that—an edger, and a hedge trimmer, plus spare batteries and chargers if you need them.

Every deal in this sale is an all-time low price, usually by a pretty huge margin, so if you have any inkling that you might want some of these for your lawn, you don’t want to miss out.

Note: The edger includes a battery, but the other three tools do not.

Anker Roav DashCam, $67 with code ANKERVC1

Anker’s beginning its drive into the automotive accessory space with an affordable new dash cam, and you can race over to Amazon to snag one for $67 with code ANKERVC1, the best price we’ve seen since our exclusive (and short-lived) $64 launch deal.

I test drove the Anker Roav DashCam, and you can see my full impressions here. But to give you the cliffnotes, it shoots 1080p, its space-saving design makes it essentially invisible to the driver, and it even includes Wi-Fi to transfer clips to your phone, which is hard to find in a sub-$100 dash cam.

This Sensi thermostat might not look like much, but you can control it with an app on your phone, or even with Alexa, meaning it’s basically an uglier Nest for less than half the price. No wonder it’s actually Amazon’s #1 selling thermostat.

Today’s deal is a match for the best price Amazon’s offered all year.

If you’ve ever eaten at a nice steakhouse, you were probably eating sous-vide meat. Here’s a secret though: It’s really easy to get those kinds of results yourself, and Amazon’s here to help with a $169 deal on the newest Wi-Fi version of Anova’s top-selling immersion circulator,as well as a $11 deal on the older Bluetooth model.

Lifehacker has a great explainer on Sous-Vide cooking for you to check out, but the basic idea is that you seal the food in plastic bags, and then cook it in precisely heated water over a longer period of time. It sounds weird and kind of sterile, but the result is meat that’s cooked to the exact right temperature all the way through.

We’ve seen these for less, especially around major sale events like Black Friday and Prime Day, but these prices are at the bottom of these circulators’ usual price ranges, if you’ve been meaning to pick one up.

Breville’a excellent Smart Ovens almost never go on sale, but Woot’s offering a rare refurb discount on a top-end model today.

$185 gets you the Breville Smart Oven Pro, or about $70 less than buying it new. This convection oven has 10 smart cooking programs built in, and is large enough for six pieces of toast, a 13″ pizza, or even an entire (small-ish) turkey. I have the smaller version of this in my own kitchen, and use it about five times more than I use my regular oven.

If you like the idea of the beach, but have an Anakin Skywalker-like aversion to sand, this sand-proof blanket is cheaper than ever on Amazon today, in two different sizes.

Say what you will about McDonald’s, but they actually have pretty good coffee, and now you can make it at home with these discounted K-Cup pods. Just be sure to clip the 15% coupon on the page.

Lysol wipes are one of the easiest ways to wipe down cabinets, and they’re a gift sent from the heavens whenever someone in your house has a cold. Assuming you’ve got some extra cabinet space, you should definitely pick up 320 wipes for $9 up with this clippable Amazon coupon.

Note: Discount shown at checkout.

If you’re planning on spending $25 on Amazon today (we can probably help you with that), be sure to use promo code PRIMESNACK and pick one of these four snacks to get it for free with your order. Just note that the $25 has to be shipped and sold by Amazon.com directly to qualify. I’m in for that sweet and spicy trail mix

Top Lifestyle Deals

The college football season starts in a week, and this Amazon sale couldn’t be more perfectly timed. Grab a hoodie from over 50 college teams for just $24 and support your squad come kickoff.

There may be a couple size/team combos that aren’t marked down (as is usual and annoying for apparel on Amazon) so just make sure you check the price.

Philips Sonicare Essence+, $30 after $10 coupon

Philips’ entry-level Sonicare Essence electric toothbrush has long been a reader favorite, and now Amazon’s running the best deal we’ve seen on the sequel, the Essence+.

The big improvement here is the brush head: Rather than the screw-on E-series heads (which have a tendency to collect sludge along the seam), the Essence+ uses standard Sonicare snap-on heads. The upshot is that you get a lot more choices: Philips sells seven different options for different budgets and brushing styles.

For a limited time, Amazon’s taking $10 off the brush’s standard $40 price tag. Just be sure to clip the coupon, and note that you won’t see the final price until checkout.

In case you missed it during the Prime Day chaos, ExOfficio’s insanely popular sweat-wicking men’s underwear is still on sale for $12-$15, in multiple sizes and colors. It’s extremely rare for Amazon to have this many options in stock, let alone at a discount, so don’t miss your chance to stock up.

6pm is Zappos’ massive deals site and they’re hosting their End of Season clearance sale, with 60% off or more on select apparel, shoes and accessories. Score stuff from Coach, Adidas, Nike, Calvin Klein and more for a fraction of the price.

There must be something in the air, because J.Crew Factory has had major discounts lately. Use the code ECLIPSE and take an extra 50% off all clearance items, which is insane seeing as practically everything is already marked down under $100. Maybe hold off on cleaning out your closet until after this sale is over.

If you own an Xbox One, you’ll probably spend some money on games, DLC, and movie downloads eventually, so you might as well save 10% when you have the chance. We don’t know how long this will last, but Amazon’s currently taking 10% off Xbox gift cards in denominations of $100, $70, $60, $40, $30, and $10, with instant email delivery.

I probably wouldn’t expect Nintendo-like supply shortages, but if you want to be absolutely sure to get an Xbox One X at launch, preorders are live now.

Update: Sold out on Amazon (at least for now), but check out GameStop, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target for more ordering options.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy proves that you don’t need Nathan Drake to make a great Uncharted game, and Prime members can pick it up for $32 today.
