We might not ever get another Witcher game, CD Projekt reaffirms

CD Projekt Co-Founder Marcin Iwinski has once again taken time out to explicitly state that the company is not working on a Witcher game, and that they currently have no plans to do so. This story ends its video game form with The Witcher 3.

The upcoming Blood and Wine expansion should be the title’s last. From there? The Witcher is likely done.

Eurogamer spoke with Iwinski about this.

“As we said before, never say never [but] right now it’s really Blood and Wine. This is the end. Blood and Wine is [the] closing and there won’t be any Witcher any time soon – if there ever will be one. And I would really like to see how people feel about it, if they will enjoy it.”

Don’t hang on to that “never say never” bit, fans. CD Projekt Red is simply being transparent here. They know the future could hold any fate for their production decisions. For now? Forget it.

Consider this the nail in the coffin.

“We are a publicly traded company so we cannot comment on that but I can assure you we are not working on another Witcher.”

Companies don’t play with investors, folks.

I’m fine with this. In fact, the end of CD Projekt’s time with The Witcher just means more resources getting pumped into making Cyberpunk 2077. I’m all about that.
