Which Car Would You Import If There Was No Chicken Tax?

Following today’s report that a gaggle of German automakers are interested in convincing the European Union and the U.S. to get rid off all their automotive tariffs currently proposed and in practice, it could spell the end of the hated Chicken Tax, which means we could likely import whatever we want. There’s only one question that matters.

Oh the choices. I just returned from Paris, and we in the office have a quiet obsession with Renault Twingos you see all over the place there. That seems like small potatoes if the whole of Europe and Asia is at our fingertips.

The obvious go-to is the assortment of genuinely-small trucks and vans that would be up for grabs. How about the famous and infamous Toyota Hilux? The new VW Up! GTI? All of the Land Rovers… How silly Alfa Romeo would feel for jumping the gun on this, if it all shakes out.

So what would you have? The world could be your oyster.
