Wicked Big Meet Is A Safe Place For Subie Enthusiasts To Nerd The Fuck Out

If you’re a Subaru enthusiast and you weren’t at Wicked Big Meet on June 12th, well, you missed a helluva show. With an attendance record of over 7,500 people, the event continues to be the largest Subaru gathering in the world. But have no fear, because tomorrow is Big Northwest, Subie Events LLC’s West Coast version.

I attended Wicked Big Meet for my second time and debuted the Baja’s new paint job. I also shot Facebook Live videos of Subaru’s “new” BRZ Series.Yellow and my ride-along with Global Rally Cross driver, Bucky Lasek (who will also be at Big Northwest).

Now when I say that there were Subarus of every model and style, I’m really not kidding. There were off-roading and mudding Subies…

“Ruined” and “Stanced” Subies…

Yup, that was done on purpose.

We know.

The rare and unusual Subies…

Rob and Khanh’s STIs

…and the down-right insane Subies, including one of my favorite Bugeye builds of all-time.

It’s obviously not a Subaru, but who wouldn’t want to see Prime Motoring’s RB26-Powered Scion FRS in the flesh.

There was even an auto-cross competition on the actual track where the winner took home a trophy and cash prize.

Unfortunately, some drivers had a bit of bad luck.

Whether you’re a fanboy of Bucky Lasek from his skateboarding days of the past or his current competitive driving, you also had a chance to get his autograph and win a ride-along with him in the S207.

Big Northwest is tomorrow at Portland International Raceway, so if you weren’t a part of the Eastern meet, make sure to get your fix there.
