Acer’s new Chromebook promises incredible battery life

Acer introduced a new version of its Chromebook 15 on Monday. It’s the latest model of Acer’s affordable $199 Chromebook, and the company says you’ll be able to use the Chromebook 15 through the work day and then some.

The Acer Chromebook 15 CBS-532-C47C (not a sexy name, we know), will reportedly last up to 12 hours on a single charge. That beats out a lot of computers.

Keep in mind that you’re using a Chromebook, however, which is fairly limited in what it can do. The new Chromebook 15 has a 1366 x 768-pixel display, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and an Intel Celeron N3060 processor. Not exactly a Core i7 gaming machine, but that’s the point.

An affordable Chromebook worth considering

The Acer Chromebook 15 is worth considering for a few reasons. The battery life alone is desirable, but the price is also perfect for folks who aren’t sure if they want to dive right into Chrome OS yet. It’s also compelling if you’ve been wanting to try Android apps on Chrome OS. While the support isn’t quite there for the Chromebook 15 just yet, it’s relatively easy to hack it onto most Chromebooks. The Chromebook 15 is available from Walmart now.
