Amazon Web Services has lost two chief financial officers in the past year, including one who stepped down for a mysterious new role and then quietly left the company (AMZN)

Amazon’s multibillion-dollar cloud business Amazon Web Services has lost at least two chief financial officers this year.

An Amazon spokesperson on Thursday confirmed Sean Boyle — the former CFO who “moved on to another role within AWS” in January — is no longer with the company, but declined to provider further details. Boyle’s replacement, Luis Visoso, has also left the company.

Visoso was the CFO of the consumer side of Amazon’s business before taking over for Boyle and is now CFO for cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks, in a move announced in June.

Amazon has yet to respond to a request about whether the company has appointed a new cloud CFO. Boyle and Visoso did not immediately respond.

Amazon Web Services, the market-leading cloud platform ahead of rivals Microsoft and Google Cloud, operates under the auspices of top-level Amazon execs like CEO Jeff Bezos and Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky. However, it practically runs independently, thanks to its own executive leadership — headed by Andy Jassy, the CEO of Amazon Web Services, and supported by the chief financial officer.

The changes come as a surprise after Amazon in January said it was Boyle’s decision to step down as AWS CFO, and that the company would be announcing his new role “imminently.” Boyle’s LinkedIn profile lists the title of AWS “VP” between January and August, at which time he appears to have left the company.

Boyle in August added a new position as a board member for data software company Splunk.

While it’s unclear whether Amazon has replaced the CFO role for AWS, it has named a successor for the consumer side of the business. James Dibbo, a finance executive at Amazon since 2016, became CFO of worldwide consumer in January, according to his LinkedIn profile.
