Dishonored 2’s launch trailer up, game available to pre-orders – Don’t expect reviews for a while

Bethesda and Arkane have launched Dishonored 2. They released the game’s launch trailer and made the title available to pre-order customers early.

Dishonored 2 lets players choose between playing Corvo, the hero from the first game, or Emily. Both provide different powers, abilities and narratives, so playing both would be the way to experience the full game.

Dishonored 2 is selling for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Don’t expect reviews for Dishonored 2 soon

We were on the review distribution list. We received our copy this morning. I’m hearing the same for a lot of outlets out there, so keep that in mind. If you’re waiting on reviews or impressions for Dishonored 2 before you buy, it’ll be a few days or weeks.

This all comes as Bethesda continues its recently announced policy to hold review copies back for release day. They hit UPS the day before launch, and that means we get them basically at release.

Hate critics? Cool. I don’t agree, but I understand that mentality is floating out there. Do us all a favor and make good purchases that support consumer-friendly games, okay? If developers and publishers start selling poor efforts to consumers without reviews, and consumers actually buy them up, that will become the new standard.

As always, vote with your wallets. That’s the loudest voice you have.

Here’s hoping Dishonored 2 is as good as or better than the original. I loved that game.
