Just a few days after filming wrapped in up New York City, Marvel has released the first teaser trailer for Doctor Strange. Wow, Benedict Cumberbatch couldn’t be any more perfect as Stephen Strange. The studio already warned the film would be weird and psychedelic, and after seeing tonight’s footage, I can see why.
After getting into an accident that destroys his hand, Strange embarks on a life-changing journey to repair them. Along the way, he meets The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who teaches him the secrets of the mystical and martial arts. It’s this training that eventually puts him on the path to becoming the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against mystical threats.
That threat, as the teaser briefly shows, will be Mads Mikkelsen, who is rumored to be playing Dormammu. We’ll look through this a few more times before sharing our final thoughts. That shot at the end of Strange in the Sanctum Sanctorum was enough to give us chills.
Doctor Strange is set for a Nov. 2, 2016, release.
