Kindle problems? You probably forgot to update

Amazon recently issued a mandatory software patch for Amazon Kindle devices sold between 2007 and 2012. You were required to apply the patch by March 22, or the Kindle would start to display an error message. The message that you might see, should you have ignored the update, is as follows:

Your Kindle is unable to connect at this time. Please make sure you are within wireless range and try again. If the problem persists, please restart your Kindle from the Menu in Settings and try again

Seeing that? Don’t worry, your Kindle isn’t bricked, you just need to manually update the software to get everything up and running again. Amazon has the instructions to do so right on its site, and it varies depending on which Kindle you own. It shouldn’t take long, though, and then you’ll be up and running again.
