Meet Laura – Street Fighter V’s electrifying leading lady

Capcom continues to stereotype Brazilians as natural human batteries with Laura, the latest Street Fighter V character hailing from South America. She has gotten a lot of attention since her announcement, and fans are already in love with her electric powers and in-your-face Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

If I had to pick, I’m still a bigger fan of Rashid from the newcomers, but Laura comes in second. Both of them are aggressive, combo heavy fighters, and that fits my style perfectly.

Laura already has her roots laid in the series as she is the older sister of Sean Matsuda, a character from Street Fighter III. Seeing as how several other one-hit wonder characters from Street Fighter III are being given the revival treatment, my guess is that we’ll be getting a little sibling rivalry down the road through DLC.

Street Fighter V launches this week,Feb. 16, on PlayStation 4 and PC.
