Moments after the Cavs fell behind 3-0 in the NBA Finals, JR Smith issued a bold and eyebrow-raising prediction

J.R. Smith is one NBA player who walks to the beat of his own drum and that was never more evident than following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ heartbreaking loss in Game 3 of the NBA Finals … maybe.

The Golden State Warriors scored the final 11 points to erase a six-point deficit and stretch their lead to 3-0 in the series and seemingly crush all hope for the Cavs. All hope except for Smith’s hope.

Within minutes of the game ending, Smith sent out a simple, yet mind-boggling tweet: “Cavs in 7.” As in, Smith was predicting the Cavs would erase the 3-0 deficit and come back to win the series in seven games.

The tweet was quickly deleted, and Smith later claimed he never sent the tweet. But here is a screengrab, via Twitter user @JTied23:

When Smith was asked about the Tweet, he told Doug Lesmerises of Cleveland.com that he was hacked.

“I did not tweet that,” Smith said. “I’m smarter than that. … “I do believe. But I didn’t tweet that. I would be much smarter than that to tweet that at literally 12:04, right after the game.”

Don’t do them, JR. You do you.
