New Windows 10 preview for PC and mobile focuses on Cortana

Microsoft Surface Pro 4-9

Microsoft on Thursday announced Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15007 for PC and mobile, which introduces a number of bug fixes and enhancements.

First up, Microsoft has introduced several new Edge features, including the ability to share a set of tabs, easier data importing, and web notes improvements. Now, web notes leverages the same Windows Ink experience found in Photos and Maps, according to Microsoft.

The update also introduces a feature that will allow users to more easily pick up where they left off when switching between computers.

“Cortana will display quick links in the Action Center to help you easily get back into the Microsoft Edge websites and SharePoint (or other cloud-based) documents you used most recently,” Microsoft said. “For example, if you were working on a PowerPoint deck on your laptop, when you return to your desktop, a link to that deck appears in Action Center.”

For mobile users, the update is mostly Cortana-focused, giving Microsoft’s assistant the ability to control music playback in more third-party apps, as well the addition of recurring time-based Cortana reminders. Microsoft said this feature was frequently requested by users.

There’s a lot more

Microsoft recently released preview 15002, which included tile folders, blue light options, and a number of other big improvements. With the big Creators Update not expected to arrive until April, this latest release has enough new features to tide people over.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15007 is available for PC and mobile now.
