Prehistoric Ghost Rider Has the Coolest, Most Batshit Ride for the Marvel Legacy Event

When we learned that Marvel’s Legacy event would kick off with the origin story of prehistoric Avengers who team up in the year 1,000,000 BC, we were kinda skeptical of the premise, but when we saw art for the team, the idea suddenly clicked. But there was still one Avenger we had concerns about.

The Avengers of 1,000,000 BC are made up of ancient versions of characters like the Phoenix and the Black Panther, whose personas are both unique and part of larger legacies that are passed down from generation to generation. Also included on this team is a version of the Ghost Rider, which would be fine save for the fact that most of the Ghost Riders we’ve seen thus far have all required access to some sort of vehicle. But what would a caveman Ghost Rider rider? Perhaps a wolf-powered sled? Or a broken-in sabertooth tiger? Today, Marvel essentially said “no and no.”

Caveman Ghost Rider gets around on the back of the baddest, tusked land animal in Power Rangers history: a huge ass mastodon. A huge ass mastodon bathed in hellfire.

Because of course he rides a mastodon. Now the only question is whether the mastodon’s dead or not. Like when Ghost Rider isn’t riding it, does it go back to being a regular mastodon just chilling out and trudging around in the cold? Does it remember the crazy stuff it gets into as a Ghost Steed? Or is the mastodon just a pile of bones that Ghost Rider summons into the form of a living mastodon when he’s gotta get somewhere fast?
