Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A 8.0 tablet is finally getting its Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade. The release weighs in at 1.1GB and brings a whole bunch of new exciting features and improvements.

Android 6.0.1 for the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 brings everything you would expect from a Marshmallow upgrade, including features like Doze for better battery life, Google Now on Tap for instant access to use information, and Android’s new permissions system.

The update also makes improvements to Samsung’s own TouchWiz overlay, improving performance and stability, and increasing battery life even further. It’s almost exactly the same update that reached the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 last month.

This is a big update to look forward to if you’re a Galaxy Tab A 8.0 owner, then — but you might have to wait a little while for it. According to Android Authority, the release is beginning its rollout in Australia and will make its way to other markets later.

To see if the update is available manually, you can head into the Software Update section inside the Settings app on your device. However, you should receive a notification when the download is ready.
