Samsung wants to stream live TV, too, report says

It’s never been easier to cut the cable cord and still enjoy live TV thanks to services like PlayStation Vue and Sling TV. Earlier this month, Hulu announced plans to stream live sports and televised events, and now Samsung may be jumping into the market as well.

Bloomberg reports that Samsung is in early talks to offer a live TV streaming service over the web. Like many of its competitors, the company is looking to cobble together a bundle of popular TV networks for monthly subscriptions. However, Samsung could set itself apart by offering its live TV service globally, instead of just in the U.S.

However, Samsung may not go through with its tentative plan. The company could easily run into a roadblock or simply decide it’s not worth competing with a growing roster of similar services. Either way, it could be a while before Samsung is ready to make anything official.
