What does Miyamoto think of Zelda: Breath of the Wild?

The Legend of Zelda was originally created by famed Nintendo developers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. The two have since moved on to more creative and free flowing roles within Nintendo, leaving Eijo Aonuma to serve as the primary producer on the series, including the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

What does Miyamoto think about Breath of the Wild, though? This new entry seems like it offers a dramatically different take on conventional Zelda mechanics. The world is larger, there’s a bigger emphasis on technology, Link has to cook for health and buffs and weapons and shields degrade and break.

Game Informer caught up with Miyamoto regarding The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You can watch that interview right here.

Miyamoto does highlight that Nintendo tries to do new things with each Zelda game, though he notes that the progression of technology has played a large role in the evolution of this franchise as well as Mario.

The whole chat is a pretty good one, though it’s more about Miyamoto’s thoughts than hard Zelda news.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is set to release in March 2017 for the Wii U and Nintendo NX.
