Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion reportedly launches in June

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was huge. The first paid expansion, which hit in October, was quite big as well, clocking in at 10 hours of gameplay. The new expansion promises to double that and adds a new area to the game, Toussaint. The expansion is big enough that the team at CD Projekt Red had to move the expansion back from the first quarter of this year to the second.

We now have what looks to be the release date for the second expansion, Blood and Wine: June 7.

Wccftech spotted the date on a Polish gaming site, GRYOnline listing the expansion as hitting that day.

Take this date with a grain of salt, though, as CD Projekt Red hasn’t confirmed it and has suggested that the date won’t be part of their PAX East event next week, either.

The two expansions combined are said to be “almost the size of The Witcher 2,” so it’s not a surprise that it’s taking a while to finish, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it pushed out even further.

The land of the expansion, Toussaint, isn’t the same dark, war-ravaged land that makes up the bulk of the main game. It promises, as the few images we have so far above show, to be more colorful and provide some variety.

The summer is usually a pretty slow time for game releases, so we’re hoping that June 7 date isn’t too far off the mark.
