iPhone 8: Larger curved displays and bezel-less design expected

There is no way to quench the thirst for information about future iPhones. As such, analysts and pundits will continue to dig to find new tidbits on Apple’s new phones far in advance of launch. The latest report comes from Barclays Research, which says Apple is aiming to launch new iPhones next year with curved displays. The devices will reportedly be available in two sizes.

“iPhone 8 design doesn’t sound 100% locked down but we believe the move is to a bezel-less design with screen sizes getting larger and curved edges in the original envelope,” the report said, according to MacRumors. “The iPhone moves from 5″ (from 4.7″) and the Plus moves to 5.8″ (from 5.5″).”

Several other reports have suggested Apple is indeed planning to make big changes to the iPhone next year. And it should, because the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus use the same design introduced two years ago with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. OLED panels are expected, too, which should offer brighter and more colorful screens with higher contrast ratios and less power consumption than LCD counterparts.

It’s important to note that Barclays Research said the design isn’t 100 percent locked down. Reports are often incorrect this early in the process. Remember the blue iPhone 7 that was supposed to launch this year? Exactly.
