iPhone SE: beautiful renders bring the rumors to life

Apple is expected to unveil its rumored 4-inch smartphone, allegedly called the iPhone SE, by the end of March. We still don’t know exactly how the device will turn out, but a fresh set of renders may offer our best look yet at the upcoming budget-friendly handset.

Created by master concept designer Martin Hajek, the images offer three different takes on the iPhone SE based on reports from 9to5Mac, OnLeaks, and curved.de. They all feature the same basic setup, including a 4-inch screen, but with a few key differences in look and feel.

9to5Mac’s version looks most like the iPhone 5s, with harsher edges and a chamfered design. Curved’s model looks almost identical to the curvier iPhone 6, but with a smaller screen. Finally, OnLeaks suggests the design could fall somewhere in between, with curved edges, a few small design tweaks and a slightly thicker frame. At the end of the day, though, all three models look pretty good.

We’re expecting the iPhone SE to offer a Touch ID sensor and NFC for Apple Pay, along with an 8-megapixel or 12-megapixel rear camera (depending on the rumor), an A9 chip and up to 64GB of storage. Apple is allegedly set to unveil the new phone at an event on March 21, where we may also see a 9.7-inch iPad Pro and new Apple Watch bands unveiled.
