Microsoft recently sweetened the offer for folks who might be wary about buying the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The company is now tossing in a free year of Microsoft Office 365 Personal, valued at about $70. Not bad, but is it enough to win you over?
In our Lumia 950 review we found the software to be pretty much unfinished. Windows 10 for Phones is still buggy and highlight features like Continuum weren’t as robust or smooth as we had hoped. Microsoft is hoping you’ll overlook some of these shortcomings if it tosses Office 365 at you, and it’s probably not a bad idea. The company said the offer helped pick up sales of the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL last year — though that phone costs just a fraction of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
