Mission: Impossible 6 sets a release date

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

Tom Cruise is set to suit up for another outing as Ethan Hunt.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation wasn’t the most successful film in the franchise – that would be Ghost Protocol – but it still turned a profit and that made yet another entry in the series inevitable. Production was delayed by rumored contract negotiations between Tom Cruise and Paramount, but everything looks set to go now. A July 27th 2018 release date has been announced with production expected to begin in Spring 2017.

Who will appear in Mission Impossible 6?

No official announcements have been made as of yet in regards to the cast members who will return, beyond Tom Cruise, but speculation is high that Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames will all be back for the next installment.

Behind the camera, it will be Christopher McQuarrie once again writing and directing. He handled the same duties on Rogue Nation.

If this release date holds true – you can never be sure of this far out – the latest Mission: Impossible will be facing off with the upcoming Aquaman solo film at the box office.
